TSR beta channel terms — version 1
It is the text the beta shows on first launch, word for word: it must be accepted to compress, while opening and extracting archives always works.
Who we are. TSR is developed by Matteo Luigi Feroldi, sole proprietorship, Italian VAT number 14667380969, Vimodrone (MI), Italy ("we"). Contact: matteo@feroldi.cloud.
What the beta is. A free test version of TSR, meant to find defects before the final version. It may contain errors, change without notice and come to an end.
Your files stay yours. TSR works on your computer: the files you compress are never sent to anyone. Always keep the originals, and do not use the beta as the only copy of important data.
Licence. We grant you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to test the beta until the end of the programme. You may not resell or redistribute it; decompile, disassemble or derive its inner workings, except where the law allows it without the possibility of a ban; use it to build a competing product; remove proprietary notices. All rights not granted remain ours.
Automatic updates. The beta updates itself: it downloads new versions from our server, checks their signature and installs them at the next start, never during a running job.
The channel check and the end of the beta. From time to time the beta reads a signed document from our server, carrying updates, messages for testers and the state of the programme. That request sends only the program version and the operating system. At the end of the programme, or earlier if we so decide, compressing new data is closed. Opening, extracting and verifying your archives remains possible forever, offline too, and even if our server were no longer running.
Messages. We may send announcements to all testers through the program.
Optional diagnostics. Separately from these terms, the program asks whether you want to send us crash reports and usage metrics, linked to a random identifier and never to the names, paths or contents of your files. It is optional: you can say no, and change your mind at any time in the preferences. tsr beta sonda informativa.No warranty. The beta is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
Liability. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss of data or profit, or for indirect damage, arising from the use of the beta. Wilful misconduct, gross negligence and the other cases in which the law does not allow liability to be limited are excluded.
Changes. We may change these terms. The program shows you the new version, which must be accepted to keep compressing; opening and extracting your archives remains possible without it.
Law and jurisdiction. Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, the court of your place of residence has jurisdiction; otherwise, the courts of Milan.
Age. You must be of legal age to accept.
